The UAW has selected a former chair of the National Labor Relations Board under then-President Barack Obama as its first external ethics officer.
Wilma Liebman, who also served as a labor board member under presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, will flll the role, a position created in response to the fallout from a long-running corruption scandal. As part of its announcement Tuesday, the UAW also launched a confidential ethics hotline.
Liebman pledged to make sure unethical conduct is handled appropriately.
