United States: Baltimore businessman gets 18 months in jail for bribing former state Del. Cheryl Glenn

A Baltimore businessman has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for paying $42,500 in bribes to former state Del. Cheryl Glenn, who represented Baltimore City.

Lance Lucas, 44, of Baltimore, “paid $42,500 to former Maryland Delegate Cheryl Glenn in exchange for official actions, to give his businesses an advantage,” said U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur in a statement today. “Legislative decisions must be made in the best interests of the public, not in exchange for bribes. The U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI will continue to hold accountable those who pay bribes to benefit their own interests over the public good.”

Lucas was an entrepreneur and businessman who worked for a company that developed the Cyber Warrior Diversity Program curriculum, according to a news release.
