Supply chain Modern Slavery risk assessment and due diligence

Effectively identify, mitigate and manage modern slavery risk in your supply chain using ethiXbase and Norton Rose Fulbright’s Modern Slavery risk assessment module.

Our Mission: To assist organisations to identify, mitigate and report on
Modern Slavery within their Supply Chain.

According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), at any given time an estimated 40.3 million people globally are in modern slavery, which includes 24.9 million in forced labour.

To address this issue, governments across the world are in the process of adopting Modern Slavery reporting requirements, which require organisations to report publicly on the steps they are taking to combat slavery and human trafficking in their supply chains. Such reporting requirements implore companies to closely examine their supply chains to identify whether there is a risk of modern slavery occurring before they can report on the steps they are undertaking.

To help organisations meet reporting requirements and effectively assess modern slavery risk within their supply chains, ethiXbase has collaborated with global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright to design and distribute a supply chain Modern Slavery Questionnaire – this risk assessment combines a questionnaire and risk computations for third-parties to allow businesses to identify the potential for human rights abuses across their supply chains.

As members of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), we have created a holistic solution and supply chain risk management programme to identify risks across Environmental Practices, Labour, Human Rights and Anti-Corruption.

The Modern Slavery Questionnaire is offered via the ethiXbase 360 Third-Party Risk Management Platform and is an integral component of the ethiXbase Human Rights Module. It focuses on the critical areas of reputational and increasingly legal risk.

Built within the ethiXbase 360 platform, the Modern Slavery risk assessment module is an end-to-end third-party risk management solution that focuses on negating modern slavery risks within global supply chains and facilitating robust annual reporting. It is designed to help our clients elevate sustainability, ensure resilience, and deliver positive impact within their network of partners, suppliers and third-parties.

Our Solution

Identify, report and resolve on Human Rights and Modern Slavery risk in your supply chain.

Our Modern Slavery and Human Rights risk assessment programme provides you with the tools to identify and resolve hidden risk within your supply chains in a truly holistic and methodological manner. The programme could begin with the new Advanced Perceived Risk Indicator™ (APRI™), a powerful tool that automatically analyses a supply chain or specific section of third parties against our Human Rights or Labour filter. This identifies high and medium-risk suppliers for further management and mitigation.

Clients can then address and assess modern slavery risk within their organisation and supply chain through using the Modern Slavery Questionnaire, developed with Norton Rose Fulbright. This uses an innovative questionnaire with an in-built formula that identifies specific risks relating to Jurisdiction, Activity, Workforce, Policies, Systems, and Human Rights.
