Malaysia: Former sales manager claims trial to 40 corruption charges

A former sales manager claimed trial to accepting bribes amounting to RM1mil, to help a company ensure it continues as the main furniture supplier to the Japanese firm where he worked at eight years ago.

Mohd Azurine Che Bahadom, from Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur, pleaded not guilty to the 40 charges of corruption before Sessions Court judge Sharifah Norazlita Syed Salim Idid on Tuesday (March 17).

The accused, 39, had worked for Japanese firm Nitori (M) Sdn Bhd and was arrested on Nov 2,2018.

The offences were allegedly committed between Oct 9,2013 to Feb 13,2017 at Ambank Alor Setar branch.
