Europe: Foreign Subsidiaries Set to Comply With European Union ESG Rules

European lawmakers are set to require 28,000 foreign subsidiaries to comply with EU ESG rules which were originally being fought by the US.

The businesses who will have to comply include McDonalds, General Motors and others who will now face the same restrictions as EU firms. Ensuring that foreign businesses meet these standards was judged as politically salient.
