MTN CEO Sifiso Dabengwa yesterday dismissed claims by Turkcell that the company bribed officials and influenced foreign policy in exchange for a cellphone network licence in Iran describing the allegations as "ludicrous" and "unfounded." He also defended against claims by Turkcell that MTN had facilitated the installation of eavesdropping technology on MTN devices for the Iranian government. The allegations are contained in Turkcell’s $4,2bn lawsuit against MTN filed in the US. Mr Dabengwa yesterday released a detailed statement denying the allegations.
