A real estate developer and commercial building landlord in Palisades Park made his first appearance in federal court Tuesday on a charge of allegedly soliciting a $50,000 bribe payment for an unnamed borough official in order to get necessary approvals for a karaoke business.
Chung S. Kho, 68, of Fort Lee, is charged with one count of using facilities in interstate commerce to promote bribery. Kho appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy L. Waldor in Newark and was released on $50,000 unsecured bond.
His attorney, Robert C. Scrivo, of Morristown, declined to comment via email Tuesday afternoon.
