New York state Sen. Dean Skelos and his son pleaded not guilty on Thursday to new bribery and extortion charges, as a federal judge set a November date for their trial.
Mr. Skelos, a Republican who stepped down as the Senate’s majority leader in May, and his son, Adam Skelos, entered their pleas during a short arraignment in Manhattan federal court Thursday morning.
Both father and son and their attorneys declined to comment after the hearing. The elder Mr. Skelos said earlier this year that both he and his son would be vindicated in court.
