United States: Ex-SC State Board Chairman To Be Sentenced For Kickbacks
The former chairman of the board of trustees at South Carolina State University is set to be sentenced for his role in a kickback scheme.
Greenville businessman Jonathan Pinson on Wednesday potentially faces more than a decade in prison on dozens of counts including racketeering and money laundering.
Authorities say the former board chairman skimmed federal money going to a low-income housing project in Columbia and a diaper factory in Marion County, then filed false paperwork to get more money from the government.
