A New Jersey doctor is headed to prison for accepting $1.8 million in bribes from a medical lab company.
Federal prosecutors say Frank Santangelo received a 63-month sentence on Tuesday and will have to serve three years of supervised release once he’s freed. The 45-year-old Boonton resident will also forfeit more than $1.8 million as part of his plea agreement.
Santangelo had pleaded guilty in July 2013 to violating the travel act, money laundering and failing to file tax returns. His medical offices were in Montville and Wayne.
