A former Bastrop federal prison pharmacy technician and two inmates pleaded guilty to their roles in a bribery scheme to smuggle contraband into the facility, the Department of Justice said Thursday.
According to federal officials, 25-year-old Eric Renaldo Telles of Taylor pleaded guilty to receiving a bribe. The inmates, 27-year-old Shanon Frank and 24-year-old Mattheu Jones, pleaded guilty to conspiring to bribe a public official.
Court records state Frank and Jones admitted to bribing Telles to smuggle contraband into FCI-Bastrop between June 2014 and February 2015. The contraband included Casio G-Shock watches, nutritional supplements and muscle shirts. Telles collected as much as $2,000 in bribes.
