A billionaire Labour donor from Belgravia is to appear in court over an alleged £700 million bribe. Jordanian-born metals magnate Victor Dahdaleh, 68, is accused of offences relating to contracts for the supply of aluminium to Bahrain. Dahdaleh, who has been a donor to the party for several years, is charged with corruption, conspiracy to corrupt and acquiring and transferring criminal property. The accusations refer to alleged payments to officials of Aluminium Bahrain BSC (Alba), a smelting company in Bahrain.
