tunisia-live.net on November 18, 2011 reported that Mourad Trabelsi, the brother-in-law of the deposed President Ben Ali, was sentenced to ten years in prison yesterday, November 17th. The Court of First Instance in Tunis charged him and one of his accomplices with fraud. Trabelsi was sentenced to prison for three years on the basis of fraud and corruption. His case involved a fishing industry professional who accused Trabelsi of fraud and the use of violence while forcing the businessman to sign bills. The investigations revealed that Trabelsi extorted more than 300,000 TD from the fishing industry professional. Mourad was arrested and then detained in the military barracks of Al Aouina, Tunis, on January 14th and many cases have been brought up against him since then.
