Former Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin (郝龍斌) yesterday met with his lawyers, reportedly to draft a lawsuit against his successor, incumbent Mayor Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) due to what he sees as the “bias” of the Ko administration’s investigations into the five major corruption and malpractice cases in the city.
Late Wednesday, following the publication of Taipei City’s Clean Government Committee’s (CGC, 臺北市政府廉政透明委員會) investigation report and recommendation on the MeHas City (美河市) development project, the Songshan Cultural Park (松菸文創), the Gate of Taipei construction project (雙子星), the Syntrend Creative Park (三創數位生活園區) and the Taipei Dome, Hau criticized the incumbent mayor and his administration on his Facebook page for bias and malfeasance during the investigations.
Hau wrote that he agrees in principle with the sentiments behind the administration’s investigation. The administration had stated that investigations would abide by the principles of “law over persons, justice over hearsay and wisdom over power” in the future.
