A verdict without discrepancies. The jury that has heard the bribery case in Camas yesterday convicted unanimously former mayor Agustin Pavon, former mayors Antonio Enrique Fraile y Jose del Castillo, and businessman Eusebio Gaviño for having attempted to bribe councilwoman Carmen Lobo in exchange for a favourable vote in some town meetings. The jury’s verdict lends credence to the statements of the complainants, the former mayor Carmen Lobo and former IU militant Francisco Gordo, “regardless of personal motivations” that they might have, and also to the recordings made of meetings the defendants. Upon completion of the reading of the verdict, the prosecutor and the prosecution exercised by the PSOE requested a sentence of 18 months imprisonment and a fine of 24,000 euros for each defendant, while not opposed to the suspension of the imprisonment if there are legal requirements, as it is a sentence of less than two years and none of them have no criminal record.
