Water and Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa on Friday dismissed allegations of tender corruption and maladministration in the Kruger National Park. Molewa's statement was prompted by 15 parliamentary questions from the Democratic Alliance, which alleged widespread corruption at the park. She said the allegations appeared to come from a disgruntled former security manager at the park, Bheki Mystic Nsibande. Nsibande was dismissed in June last year, for circumventing supply chain management policy and awarding contracts to companies in which his younger brother and a friend were directors. Molewa said that companies which won contracts from Nsibande had never traded with the Kruger National Park before Nsibande's appointment in 2008.
