singaporelawwatch.sg on December 2, 2011 reported that a defence contractor who bribed an army captain in exchange for secret information about military projects was jailed for eight weeks yesterday. Yow Wah, 59, handed over a total of $53,100 in loans to former Singapore Armed Forces scholar Phua Poh Sim. In return, he was given documents relating to potential tenders which he believed could help him to secure business. The pair were introduced at a KTV lounge in early 2008, the court heard. Phua, a weapons staff officer whose duties included meeting suppliers for product briefings and demonstrations, said that he could help Yow by sharing information on projects that the military were interested in.
