Chairman National Accountability Bureau Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has said that NAB is committed to eradicating corruption under its Zero Tolerance Policy across the country.
A press statement issued on Friday said that recent reports from Independent Watch Dogs like Transparency International rated Pakistan in Corruption Perception Index (CPI) from 175 to 126. The PILDAT in its recent report also supports the position stated above as 42 per cent people trusted NAB against 30 per cent for police and 29 per cent for government officials which is a great achievement for Pakistan due to NAB’s efforts. He said this while addressing Officers/Officials of NAB during his visit to NAB Balochistan.
He said the menace of corruption has links to a multitude of vices. It creates a sense of insecurity, hopelessness and despondency. In our own peculiar case the twin menace of corruption and poverty are closely interlinked. A surge in one has a direct bearing on the other.
