A former executive of state-owned electric company CFE who faces charges in a multi-milliondollar corruption case was captured in the northern city of Hermosillo, the Mexican Attorney General's Office said Monday. Nestor Moreno Diaz, CFE's erstwhile operations chief, was originally detained last summer, but a federal judge ordered him released and he quickly went underground. Authorities caught up with Moreno on Sunday and he is now confined at a jail in Mexico City, the AG's office said. The case of Moreno, who is accused of illicit enrichment, came to light after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission levied fines on Swiss engineering giant ABB in connection with bribery in Mexico.
