A police sergeant was sentenced to a total of four years’ jail and fined RM35,000 by the Sessions Court here today for bribery.
Judge Rihaida Rafie handed down the sentence on Md Hamdari Wakidi after finding him guilty on three charges.
On the first charge, Md Hamdari, 57, was charged with soliciting RM3,000 from one Zulkefli Mohamad, an accused in a molest case, as inducement to close the case.
The offence was allegedly committed at the Criminal Investigation Department office of the Ipoh District police station between Sept 26 and 29, 2011.
