The Ministry of Justice has disclosed plans to establish an anti-corruption division at the ministry to speed up prosecution of corruption cases.
According to Deputy Justice Minister Wheatonia Barnes, the ministry is preparing a bill that will provide for the creation of additional courts dedicated to the prosecution of corruption cases.
Making remarks at a one-day high-level assessment roundtable discussion on the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS), Cllr. Barnes noted that the division will be staffed with some of the country’s best prosecutors that will handle cases in the interest of the country and its people.
