The Supreme Court has found suspended Bekasi Mayor Mochtar Mohamad guilty of corrupting from the Bekasi regional budget. Therefore, Mochtar has been sentenced to six years in prison. The Wednesday ruling overturned Bandung’s Anti-Graft Court ruling which had released Mochtar. The Supreme Court panel of judges comprised of Djoko Sarwoko, Krisna Harahap, and Leo Hutagalung. The panel agreed to set a fine of Rp300 million and required Mochtar to pay Rp639 million in compensation. “The Supreme Court overruled the Bandung Anti-Graft Court ruling. Mochtar has been found guilty of graft,” said Supreme Court spokesman Ridwan Masyur. Mochtar’s graft practices were further examined during the trial.
