A former senior merchandise manager for garment trading company Li & Fung has been jailed for 33 months after accepting bribes in exchange for awarding orders. The District Court also ordered Doris Au Yeung Lai-hung, 45, to pay HK$1.21 million in restitution to her ex-employer. Deputy Judge Don So Man-lung said yesterday Au was the author of her own disgrace and should be held responsible for her actions. Au was earlier found guilty of one count of conspiracy to offer advantages to an agent. The court heard that she was employed by Li & Fung to handle a client in the United States and was responsible for placing orders with garment suppliers, including Sun Xinfa Arts Manufacture and Shun Fat Arts Manufacture.
