Former Birmingham City Football Club owner Carson Yeung Ka-sing dropped his appeal against his appeal against his six-year prison sentence in his HK$721 million money laundering case after an appellate court upheld his conviction on Wednesday.
Yeung’s barrister Derek Chan told the Court of Appeal he decided not to pursue the case any further because, with no change to the conviction, there was no hope of substantially reducing the sentence.
Yeung still has the option to appeal against his conviction at the Court of Final Appeal. But outside court, his lawyers declined to indicate whether or not he would do so.
