Lamine Diack, the former head of the International Association of Athletics Federation, will stand trial in France over allegations of corruption linked to a Russian doping scandal.
Last month, France’s Parquet National Financier, the country’s financial prosecutor, recommended that Mr Diack, along with his son Papa Massata Diack, be tried for “passive and active corruption” and money laundering. French prosecutors have been investigating Mr Diack since 2015.
Mr Papa Massata Diack remains in Senegal according to people familiar with the matter, while his father remains in France under judicial supervision.
