Investigators with Quebec’s permanent anti-corruption squad were at the Montreal offices of engineering firm Dessau Inc. on Wednesday morning as part of an ongoing probe into the city of Montreal’s cancelled $355.8-million water-management contract.
The contract, which was the largest ever awarded by the city, went to the consortium Génieau in 2007. Dessau was one of the two partners that made up the consortium. The deal was cancelled two years later after revelations of irregularities in the contract-awarding process.
UPAC confirmed on Wednesday that 30 investigators were executing a search warrant in Montreal, and that some people were being met.
