ghanamma.com on December 13, 2011 reported that three officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, officials including its Head of Operations in Edo State were yesterday brought before a Federal High Court sitting in Benin for allegedly collecting the sum of N2 million bribe from one Mr. Ted Edward Iseghoghi. The INEC officials are Chinedu Nwankwo, 46, Henry Anozie, 38 and Obiorah Enebeli, 32 and were brought before the court on a three count charge. However, Chidedu Nwankwo was not present in court as the police said he was hospitalised while Edward Iseghoghi was said to be at large. According to the charged sheet, the suspects were alleged to have falsified ballot papers brought before the Election Petition Tribunal in the petition filed by Charity Amanyanevbo of the Peoples Democratic Party against the election of Hon Isaac Osahon of the Action Congress of Nigeria in Ovia Federal Constituency.
