A Dhaka court has asked BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to appear before it on May 25 in two graft cases.
Dhaka’s Third Special Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar fixed May 25 for the next hearing in the Zia Charitable and Zia Orphanage Trust graft cases.
Khaleda’s counsel Masud Ahmed Talukder assured the court that the BNP chief will appear before the court on the fixed date.
Khaleda’s lawyers filed six petitions seeking time, adjournment of the hearing for the day and holding the hearing in the absence of the BNP chief. The court granted the last two petitions.
