Brian Parker is confident he will return as head of the NSW branch of the CFMEU after the royal commission into trade union corruption has concluded its hearings.
Speaking on Wednesday before his appearance at the royal commission this week, Mr Parker said “absolutely” when asked if he believed he would return to his position as secretary of the CFMEU’s NSW branch. “I’ve stepped aside. It doesn’t mean I have quit my employment,” he said.
“It is very important for the benefit of my members that I step aside for now because I couldn’t do my job to full capacity.
