Nick Roberts
Nick Roberts is a successful entrepreneur, investor and company director with specific expertise in building, scaling and selling global risk and compliance businesses.
Formerly based in London and New York and living in Sydney since 2008, Nick has 30 years of international experience. He has founded successful businesses in the UK, USA and Asia, generating very significant returns for shareholders on exit.
Following his most recent sale Nick is now focused on investing in and actively supporting a selected number of early stage technology businesses that have demonstrated outstanding leadership, game changing solutions and genuine global potential.
Nick’s support for founders and leaders typically involves work around strategy, fund-raising, governance and risk management, international expansion and ultimately processes for shareholders to realise the value created.

Leas Bachatene is a proven business leader with over 15 years of experience, having established and led commercial organisations in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
Leas joined Complinet Group in 2004, a leading provider of compliance solutions for the financial services industry. He went on to found their operations in both the Middle East and Asia. Within 4 years of inception these operations contributed to over 15% of the group’s revenue.
Under Leas’ leadership, Complinet became the point of reference for the compliance community in the Middle East and Asia. This was achieved through a variety of strategic projects with regional regulators which helped to improve governance and compliance culture and best practices including the GCC Regulators’ Summit and the Pan-Asian Regulatory Summit.
Complinet was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2010 to form the cornerstone of their Governance, Risk and Compliance business. Following the acquisition Leas served as Managing Director of Thomson Reuters’ GRC division in Asia Pacific where the business saw double digit growth year-on-year during his five-year tenure. During this period Leas spear headed the acquisition of a major e-learning provider and was key to the successful integration of the GRC businesses with the broader Financial and Risk division.
Prior to joining Complinet Leas led various commercial divisions within the publishing industry for Informa Group and eFinancialnews.com in London.
Leas holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a High Diploma in Marketing and a Master’s in Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

Deborah Graaven has 20 years of experience in marketing and was previously the APAC Regional Director of Marketing for a major logistics company with prior experience in both Technology and FMCG multinationals. Born in Surinam and Holding a Masters Degree in Communications from Erasmus University in the Netherlands
Deborah has lived in Singapore for the past 15 years. She speaks 5 languages and is responsible for advising on the brand positioning and digital marketing of the company.

Director
Michael Short is a successful SME entrepreneur whose functionality specialty is investing in Risk Data and Background Screening firms that operate in international markets.
Since 2000, Michael has co-founded and financed three of Asia and the Middle East’s most successful risk data and background screening businesses, he subsequently exited all via acquisition by multi-national market leaders or PE firms. His main focus remains businesses in the risk management and risk data spaces. Michael is an experienced global business leader and has managed at either CEO or Board Director level in numerous businesses and business units during the past 20 years.
Including leading global sales and marketing teams from the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore, managing back office and research operations in India, Malaysia and China and managing at a board-level one of the first truly global ‘RegTech’ companies.
Prior to life in the corporate world, Michael was an inspectorate officer in the Royal Hong Kong Police where he specialised in Criminal Intelligence and Asian Organised Crime enforcement. Michael speaks English and Chinese (Cantonese).

Yogesh Bhura is a successful serial entrepreneur and is also one of Asia’s leading risk management specialists. He runs and manages IQ Capital Holdings Pte Ltd (Singapore) and also acts as an Advisor to Swedish private equity fund EQT (www.eqt.se) and on the board of Singapore based InCorp Group (www.incorp.asia) and ethiXbase (www.ethixbase.com).
Additionally he is invested in technology driven businesses including Mosaik Risk Solutions (www.mosaikrisk.com), Eduvanz (https://eduvanz.com/), Omniware Technologies (www.traknpay.com) and a social entrepreneurship firm Head Held High (http://head-heldhigh.org/).
Yogesh is a graduate in Commerce and a Chartered Accountant, apart from a Certified Oracle Financial Consultant. Prior to starting his entrepreneurship journey, he has had experience in managing Finance, Wealth Management, Custodial Operations etc. He has also been a guest speaker at CIIE (part of IIM Ahmedabad) workshop.
Since 2000, Yogesh has co-founded, financed and managed three of Asia’s most successful anti-corruption focused Risk & Compliance businesses, namely Quest Research, IntegraScreen and Dataflow. Each of these businesses were sold to strategic/private equity after scaling up at regional and global level.

Russell Potter has more than 20 years’ experience working in SMEs across a variety of sectors including software, music, film and television.
Prior to joining ethiXbase in 2020, he was CFO for Zoovu, a VC backed B2B SaaS based conversational marketing platform provider and ITRS, a PE backed application performance
monitoring tool provider in the FinTech sector, which was successfully sold to TA Associates during his time there.
Russell is a qualified accountant (FCCA) and has experience working with PE/VC backed high growth leveraged businesses with demanding stakeholders.

Michelle Knight
Managing Director, Business Intelligence and Due Diligence
Michelle has worked with a number of large risk consultancies and compliance focused companies in Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong over the past 22 years. As a leader in the business intelligence field in Asia, Michelle specialises in due diligence, vendor and employee integrity screening, corporate research, and AML and compliance related projects.
She has extensive experience in managing a wide range of complex business intelligence enquiries and analysing and reporting information from global sources, managing cross-country business intelligence teams as well as ensuring timely and accurate reporting of information to clients.
Michelle is a Bachelor of Science (Hons) graduate from University College London, holds a Graduate Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering from the International Compliance Association and University of Manchester Business School and is a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

Martin joined ethiXbase as Managing Director, Asia Pacific in September 2019, bringing a wealth of experience in software sales and marketing. An established governance, risk and compliance solutions professional, Martin formerly led the Thomson Reuters’ Australia and New Zealand’s Risk division as well as the GRC team for SAI Global across Asia Pacific.
Martin established deep relationships with clients and industry thought leaders building a solid reputation for providing straightforward support and advice.
During Martin’s tenure, the ANZ business within the Risk division of Thomson Reuters achieved significant growth and established a leadership ranking by top analyst firms.
Prior to that, Martin has held senior leadership positions in a variety of technology start-ups with a primary focus in fintech including Complinet and Total Compliance.

Joe joined ethiXbase as the Global Head of Growth Marketing in November 2020, bringing his experience in website optimisation, content creation and digital marketing to the team. Based in the UK, Joe’s experience spans the creation and implementation of digital marketing and off-site marketing strategies for a range of B2C and B2B clients, working on accounts that include Aviva, UPS, JLL, Nokia, BT Group, Hilton and more.
Joe is passionate about creating audience-driven content that answers user intent and data inputs. He’s looking forward to being part of the ethiXbase team and building upon their existing activity and impressive growth, and helping achieve the ethiXbase goal of helping businesses elevate global supply chains through best-practice, ethical operations that have the world’s interests at heart.
